"We selected Border Star because our children had attended a daycare that followed the Montessori method and we believed it would be a good transition for them. We also were impressed by the independence given to students and the warmth that we felt while touring the building.”
The Bender Family
Mentoring within schools has become an increasingly popular and effective way to bring a caring adult or older peer relationship to the lives of more youth.
The Kansas City Public Schools Education Foundation was established in 2012 as a self-perpetuating, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization to promote quality education in Kansas City Public Schools.
Participating in parent leadership organizations is a great way to get involved in the education of children. Adults who take an active role in education positively impact future generations of leaders, workers and parents. These adults also get a chance to see firsthand what goes on inside schools within the Kansas City, Missouri School District.
By giving your time you're not only helping KCPS, you're also helping the communities our schools support and thrive in.
