Border Star Families,

I would like to welcome our new students and families to Border Star. I know each of you has been patiently waiting for Kansas City Public Schools to release information around the upcoming school year. I appreciate your patience as the district has been working with state and local health officials to devise a plan that is best suited for our students and staff. Student safety is our number one priority. Tonight our school board will be meeting at 6:30 to discuss the plans for the upcoming school year. Once our board votes on our return plan, I will be meeting with our school's leadership team to work out the logistics of what this model will look like for Border Star. I know many of you have questions and concerns around what this will look like for your child. Our staff is dedicated to providing an exceptional learning experience for your students, whether in person or virtual. One of the things that make Border Star the best school in Kansas City is our staff and families' dedication to our students. We will work through this together.

Please be on the lookout for important information around grade-level meetings. I will be meeting with our school's leadership team to review district guidelines and create Border Star's plan for the upcoming school year. Again, I know many of you have questions; our goal is to work collaboratively to ensure your questions can be answered once we meet.
